Antecedentes

No es ningún secreto — incluso entre los no iniciados en la ciencia — que después del colapso del Velo del 2021, el mundo no ha sido amable con los estudios demográficos relacionados a campos anteriormente paranormales.[2] Desde tener que reinventar la mitad de las clasificaciones que definieron su ciencia hasta obtener de repente un número monumental de nuevas categorías a las cuales estar atentos, parecía que habíamos aceptado colectivamente que los datos relativos a la población general eran un desastre.

Incluso con la ayuda de los datos compartidos por Vanguard, les ha tomado casi 11 años de constante trabajo a los estudios demográficos hacer una verdadera reaparición dentro de las comunidades científicas. Es por esa razón que entre todo ese desastre, los círculos académicos y los goviernos del mundo se han olvidado de una tendencia muy importante y reciente entre la juventud de hoy: la rápida propagación de las habilidades de manipulación de la realidad.

Pese a que la ontoquinesis y sus muchos derivados jamás han sido algo de lo que nunca se haya escuchado — siendo el arte de la manipulación de la tela de la realidad un notable pilar de muchas culturas antiguas alrededor del mundo[3] — siempre han sido una rareza, incluso entre las comunidades paranormales. Los datos obtenidos de la anterior Administración de Registros y Seguridad de la Información de la Fundación SCP, así como el Alto Comando de la Coalición Oculta Global, sugieren que durante más de 150 años de su existencia compartida, el arte de la manipulación de la realidad ha sido una caracterísitica exhibida por menos del 0.003% de la población global.[4]

Tomando todo esto en cuenta, así como los nuevos datos obtenidos por la finalmente reconstruida División de Población de las Naciones Unidas, se debe hacer una pregunta: ¿por qué la población de alteradores de la realidad se ha incrementado tan repentinamente luego del colapso del Velo?

Guerra de Teorías

Cuando la División de Población presentó por primera vez su reporte a la comunidad científica en 2031, el consenso general había sido de incredulidad. Los cambios en la ocurrencia de la alteración de la realidad obviamente jamás habían sido algo verdaderamente imposible, pero el desplazamiento global hacia tal extremo parecía estar en los límites de lo creíble. Incluso teniendo el contexto de los cambios del mundo post-Impasse en mente,[5] casi nadie deseaba abordar los datos ya mencionados con un análisis serio, y menos con una investigación prioritaria.

Sin embargo, cuando en 2032 un segundo reporte, así como varias fuentes independientes — incluyendo sesiones espiritistas de Silicon Nornir, visiones angevinas y censos de Vanguard — reafirmaron esos resultados, todo el mundo se dió cuenta de que este no era un tema de risa. Tan solo en un mes, las más brillantes mentes ontoquinéticas de todo el mundo se aliaron en un intento por descifrar este misterio.

Fue de las plumas de estos genios que surgieron las tres teorías principales con las cuales se esperaba explicar esta tendencia.

La primera — y la más popular por mucho — teoría fue propuesta por el Prof. Mark Kaufmann del Consorcio Científico de Vanguard. Habiendo analizado datos de varios artículos referentes a actividades anómalas post-Impasse, propuso que la tendencia puede ser explicada por un "redespertar espiritual", el cual él cree que el mundo está experimentando actualmente.[6] En sus propias palabras, "nada se pierde en un sistema cerrado, por lo tanto — así como la taumaturgia — la manipulación de la realidad parece estar entrando finalmente a su renacimiento en una escala global. Es simplemente el camino de la naturaleza."

A pesar de que la teoría suena como la mejor respuesta en el papel, como muchos ya lo han señalado, en la realidad esta tiene poco mérito. Kaufmann parece ignorar que el renacimiento de la taumaturgia que él menciona no vino simplemente de la nada. En su lugar, fue el resultado de líneas ley globales y patrones EVA reavivando su actividad luergo de varias décadas de supresión por parte del Velo de la Normalidad.[7] Mientras tanto, este tipo de fenómeno jamás podría ocurrir con la manipulación de la realidad. Si bien la taumaturgia opera manipulando sus energías, la ontiquinesis es directa, y no tiene ese poder de manipulación y, por ende, no tiene poder para reavivarse.

El Dr. Xinyi Du, un científico independiente anteriormente asociado con el Sitio-43 de la Fundación SCP, opina algo diferente. Basándose a partir de las teorías de Kaufmann, él propuso que la tendencia fue el resultado de un cambio en el entendimiento general sobre qué constituye un rasgo "paranormal".[8] "No es poco común que las creencias y percepciones humanas globales afecten la realidad directamente", afirma. "Con tales cambios masivos a la consciencia de la Tierra luego del colapso del Velo, muchos han aceptado a la taumaturgia, la ontoquinesis y otros rasgos anteriormente paranormales como nada más que características ordinarias. Por lo tanto, no es muy descabellado decir que, con el cambio en el zeitgeist intelectual, el mundo simplemente ha reaccionado a las nuevas creencias de sus ciudadanos."

A pesar de que esta teoría ha recibido una respuesta más cálida que la de Kaufmann científicamente, incluso Du señala una falla potencialmente fatal en su razonamiento: la ciencia de la noósfera y las creencias humanas está demasiado subdesarrollada como para confirmar o desmentir sus hipótesis. "Por más que me duela decirlo, simplemente no existe una forma de abordar mi teoría científicamente," concluye. "No hasta que podamos decir con certeza cómo afecta exactamente la conciencia global a lo que percibimos como normal. Y me temo que eso no sucederá hasta dentro de algún tiempo."

La última — y en la opinión de este investigador, más interesante — teoría respecto a este tema salió de las mentes del Dr. Micheals y la Dra. Reynders, doctores16 por la propia Universidad Micheals-Reynders. A los ojos de ambos Directores, la tendencia fue un resultado de modificaciones fetales sutiles e inconscientes por parte de los cuerpos de padres alteradores de la realidad.[9]

A pesar de que aún no se ha demostrado alguna conexión entre la ontoquinesis y los rasgos que se heredan genéticamente, Micheals y Reynders dicen que no es poco probable. Creen que, a través de instintos maternales subconscientes, la madre alteradora de la realidad es capaz de afectar a su bebé heredándole parte de sus propias habilidades. Los dos científicos afirman creer desde hace un tiempo que, desde un punto de vista evolutivo, tiene sentido que los padres ontoquinéticos deseen que sus hijos posean las mismas habilidades que ellos, para de ese modo garantizar su supervivencia. Y, como lo afirman, con las habilidades que ellos de hecho poseían, la ejecución subconsciente de estos cambios fue nada más que banal.

¿Qué Significa Todo Esto?

A pesar de más de medio año de cuidadosa investigación, todas las teorías propuestas son sólo eso — teorías. Debido a la naturaleza incierta de la mayoría de los datos utilizados para desarrollarlas, así como la carencia de estudios científicos realizados en varias áreas de interés, es imposible abordar alguna de estas teorías de forma definitiva. A pesar de esto, no se requiere de un Profesor de Ontoquinética para darse cuenta que, en realidad, todas estas son poco más que especulación.

Es innegable que las mentes detrás de estas teorías son nada menos que brillantes, pero incluso estas mismas admiten que sus soluciones propuestas no son nada más que estimaciones. Muchos de ellos tratan a los alteradores de la realidad como puntos de datos estancados, en lugar de los seres humanos viventes que son. Las hipótesis también parecen ignorar el hecho de que sus sujetos son capaces de cambiar y tienen, de hecho, emociones y empatía que afectan su conducta humana.

Aún así, no se puede ignorar el conocimiento colectivo acumulado como resultado de este ejercicio científico global — con estos grandes resultados de análisis y datos, la respuesta simplemente debe hallarse en alguna parte entre todos ellos. Es, por lo tanto, exactamente por esa razón que concluyo este informe con una teoría propia.

A pesar de que el renacimiento de Kaufmann sea una teoría apenas funcional, creo que parte de ella es verdad: el mundo está despertando. Con más cambios que nunca en la historia del mundo hechos a la consciencia global y al zeitgeist actual,[10] eventualmente algo tenía que quedarse. Especialmente tratándose de seres vivos. No necesariamente tiene que ser algo físico, algo tangible — después de todo, no hay partículas milagrosas alteradoras de la realidad que podamos simplemente medir.

Entonces, quizás, el cambio fue algo muy diferente, algo mucho más sutil. Nos gusta hablar de la influencia ontoquinética directa de la creencia humana en el mundo pero, ¿qué tal si el cambio fue mucho menos complicado? ¿Qué tal si, a través de nuestras creencias compartidas, no hemos dado lugar directamente a la creación literal de habilidades de alteración de la realidad en la gente? ¿Qué tal si, a través de nuestros avances en la tolerancia, las opiniones sobre lo "paranormal", y el finalmente ver a los alteradores de la realidad como seres humanos en vez de monstruos, meramente hemos permitido que aquellos que siempre han sido así se vean realmente, por primera vez en sus vidas?

¿Qué tal si, después de todos estos años sin Velo, finalmente nos hemos permitido encontrar nuestra maravilla interior?
